Lent Day 6 (2025)

Writer: Mathew GoodrichMathew Goodrich

Well, once again I have not been keeping up with this like I planned, but hey I am doing better than I have in the history of my Blog.

Some exciting news has come as of Sunday Afternoon, my capstone proposal for LTS has been accepted and I have submitted request for admission to the capstone project. It is now GO time for my final three months of Seminary as I aim to graduate in June 2025. The focus of my proposal will be to prepare the church for transformation, it is not to transform the church itself but to work with my congregation to get ourselves better aligned to thrive in the world as we work to be and share the Good News.

Interestingly enough, I thought being on a fast while trying to start my capstone project woudl be a pain in the butt, however I am starting to really enjoy the process. I still am working on more intentional time with God each day, but my body is feeling really good and I have been vibing with the Holy Spirit more and more. Yes, I definitly still have cravings for food not allowable on my fast but there is some really good foods to eat with what is allowable. I have acutally found some really good cereals that have no added surgars, good fiber contents, and have protein! I have also been getting to play with soups, which has been fun. I have kind of forgotten how much I love cooking.

Now, I could probably go on and on about how good I feel, but I want to take a moment for reflection on why I am doing this, as it is not only for my physical health, but also my spiritul health. This work I am doing is not nesicarily what the Daniel Fast followers always focus on, but as it is Lent, my aim is to use the time to focus HOPE and where I am falling short in my faith and ministry. Another thing that I am trying to work on is to remember that I cannot do everything, so I need to start focusing in on what I can do in the Kin-dom of God. I believe that the work I am doing in my own spirituality this Lenten Season will not only be good for me but will be good for those I serve in the name God.

I hope you are all doing well this lenten season thus far and are carrying some hope within you.

In Christ's Love,

Pastor Mat
